Young made his England U19 debut in December 2019 during the tri-series in Antigua having impressed for Dorset and the Somerset Second XI and in the ECB Super-4s. The former Millfield School pupil signed professionally with Somerset in 2019, joining classmates Kasey Aldridge and Lewis Goldsworthy at the Coopers Associates County Ground.
