Another product of Pakistan's supply chain of left-arm fast bowlers, Rumman Raees has found a way to stand out. He came to prominence in the 2016 Pakistan Super League and made his Pakistan debut in a T20I against West Indies in September that year. But it was in the 2017 PSL that Raees came into his own, taking 12 wickets in seven matches. He possesses a number of cunning variations, the most dangerous one being a devilishly disguised slower ball. At the same time he can generate impressive pace, and regularly hit yorkers, which makes him particularly dangerous both at the start and the death of any innings.

Raees was picked for the limited-overs leg of Pakistan's West Indies tour in April 2017 and played another T20I there, but he was omitted from the Champions Trophy squad that year. He was later called in as a replacement midway through the tournament, when Wahab Riaz sustained an injury in England. Thrown into the deep end, Raees made his ODI debut in the semi-finals of the tournament, after Mohammad Amir pulled out with a back injury at the very last minute.
