Kjorn Ottley was a surprise inclusion in West Indies' ODI squad in Bangladesh at the start of 2021, earning a chance to impress at the age of 31 after several senior players declined selection.
Ottley, a left-handed, top-order batsman, had made his maiden List A hundred in the 2019-20 Regional Super50. He previously played two games for West Indies A in a series against India in 2019. He admitted that he was as surprised as anyone by his call-up, but said that it represented a "dream come true".
