It's hard to miss Kaleemullah, who stands over two metres tall, on a cricket field. But his bowling efficiency has shifted the conversation away from his towering physical stature and more towards his lofty statistics.

Originally from Gujranwala, Pakistan, where he came up through the U-19 pathway, Kaleemullah migrated to Oman in his early twenties and made his debut for that side in January 2017 in the Desert T20 tournament in the UAE. However, he had to bide his time on the bench for nearly a year afterwards, until the ICC revised its eligibility guidelines for non-citizen residents in October 2017. That opened the door for him to seize the next available opportunity, starting with 2018 World Cricket League Division Two in Namibia.

Since then, he has become an effective and sometimes devastating presence in the Oman bowling attack. Kaleemullah has a reputation as a rhythm bowler who uses his height and bounce to unsettle opposing batters. His best success has come in lengthy new-ball spells probing away with line and length, whether it is bowling four straight overs in T20 cricket or seven to eight overs in ODIs. He was a key member of the bowling unit that helped take Oman to ODI status in 2019 and has remained a steady wicket-taker in the years since.
