The Uganda Cricket Association commenced its season in the second week of January with an eight-team pre-season knockout tournament.
The knockout, which runs until the end of January, includes six teams from Kampala and two from Jinja, in the eastern part of the country.
The same eight teams will contest the League proper. The main contenders are African-based team, Nile C.C., who's key player is national team opening bowler, Kamyck Kenneth, and Kampala Indians C.C., guided by Nehul Bebodi.
The national team will remain dormant until the East and Central African Championships, in Tanzania, likely to be held in September.
