The final of the Standard Bank Cup between Guateng and Easterns, scheduled to be played at the Wanderers on Friday, has been postponed to February 29. Heavy
rainfall in the Johannesburg area over the last few days left the ground saturated, and ground staff had to erect a marquee over the pitch to shield it
from the rain.
With the forecast for further rain through to the weekend, Niels Momberg, the UCBSA Director of Cricket Operations, after consultation with all the relevant stakeholders, decided to move the game to the original reserve day in order to give the ground staff sufficient time to prepare the ground.
Should there be no result or a tie, the trophy and the prize money will be
shared. The match will be a day game, starting at 10am.
