Ryan Sidebottom is set to be available for England's second one-day international against West Indies at Edgbaston on Wednesday. England lead the three-ODI series 1-0 after their 79-run victory at Lord's.
Sidebottom took part in the practice session ahead of the second match after missing the first because of a viral infection. Paul Collingwood, England's one-day captain, said his return had left England with a selection problem. Sidebottom was replaced at Lord's by Liam Plunkett, who took 2 for 38 in 10 overs after being omitted for the two Twenty20 games.
"Sidebottom would have been playing at Lord's," Collingwood told AFP. "We will have to assess what our next team is going to be. But that's the great thing at the moment; that there is a lot of competition at the moment for certain places and that's tremendous for the England team.
"Stuart Broad [3 for 20] was exceptional. Jimmy Anderson [2 for 23] started off really well and Liam Plunkett also did well. There is not a lot of experience with Plunkett and Broad but they were magnificent."
The one-day series against West Indies ends at Trent Bridge on Saturday.
