Luke Ronchi will celebrate becoming Western Australia's No. 1 gloveman when he plays his first Pura Cup match in almost three years against Tasmania in Hobart on February 1. Ronchi's time as the first-class understudy ended with the retirement of Ryan Campbell last week and he has the opportunity to transform his regular one-day performances into a permanent position.
At 24, Ronchi, who last played a Pura Cup game in 2003, has the potential to be a long-term member of the side and he is one of two changes to the squad that lost outright to Queensland last week. Marcus North, the vice-captain, has recovered from a finger injury and Matthew Petrie misses out.
Adam Voges, who is suspended for the Warriors' one-day clash with South Australia on Wednesday, has been picked for the fixture against Tasmania in Devonport on Sunday. Voges missed a compulsory training session, which resulted in Liam Davis getting an ING Cup debut.
