Suresh Raina, the Indian batsman, sustained an injury on Friday during a practice match in Chennai organised ahead of India's departure for the Malaysia tri-series.
Raina, 19, deflected an Ajit Agarkar full toss onto his cheek and needed two stitches from the medical staff present at the ground. Raina did not take the field with his teammates in the second half of the practice match but is likely to play the second warm-up game today.
In the first warm-up match, India's senior members wrapped up an easy win over their junior team-mates. The Rahul Dravid-led India Seniors overhauled a target that was inflated to 350 with four wickets to spare. Set 275 to win, Dravid tweaked the target to 350 after his side were coasting at 246 for two in 34 overs. The last 16 overs yielded 104 runs, with Irfan Pathan making 68 and Mahendra Singh Dhoni slamming 52 from 38 balls. Dravid hit 59 off 51 balls while Sachin Tendulkar was bowled by Rudra Pratap Singh's left-arm pace for 18 off 20 balls.
The tri-series, to be held in Kuala Lumpur from September 12, also features Australia and West Indies.
