Rain cancels Australia - NSW match

SYDNEY, Dec 10 AAP - The one day cricket match between NSW and Australia at North Sydney Oval has been cancelled because of rain.

Rain fell in Sydney overnight and this morning seeing play called off at 10.15am (AEDT).

The match had offered NSW captain Steve Waugh a chance to press his claims to be included as an allrounder for next year's World Cup.

Australia plays its first match in the limited overs tri series against England at the SCG on Friday.
