India clinched the NTPC Goodwill Veterans' series 2-1 with an easy seven-wicket win over their Pakistan counterparts at Agra. In a match reduced to 35 overs per side, the Indians won the toss and bundled out the Pakistan Veterans for 171, with only Sadiq Mohammad (34), Aamir Malik (30) and Manzoor Elahi (23) chipping in. Rajesh Chauhan did the star turn, picking up five wickets with his offspinners.
Maninder Singh and Surinder Khanna ensured that the Indians reached the target in a canter, putting together 135 for the first wicket. Maninder blasted 81 off 102 balls before retiring hurt, while Khanna made 44. Atul Wassan then completed the job with an unbeaten 23.
India had earlier won the first match by 12 runs, but Pakistan came back to level the series with a six-wicket win in the second.
