The ICC today announced that Tim Anderson is to become its Development Programs Manager.
Mr Anderson, the current ICC East Asia-Pacific Development Manager will relocate from the regional office in Melbourne, Australia, to the ICC head office in Dubai. His appointment follows the withdrawal of Cricket Scotland CEO Roddy Smith from the recruitment process for personal reasons.
"In the global recruitment process for this position Tim and Roddy were the outstanding candidates so we are delighted that Tim has agreed to join us in this important role for the Global Development Program," said ICC Chief Executive Malcolm Speed.
"He has an outstanding track record of achievement during over six years in the East Asia-Pacific region and he will bring experience, energy and enthusiasm to this new role."
Mr Anderson will report to the Global Development Manager, Matthew Kennedy, and will be responsible for overseeing the work of the ICC's Regional Development Managers across the globe.
He will also be charged with establishing the strategy and delivery of the five Regional Development Programs of Africa, the Americas, Asia, East Asia - Pacific and Europe as the ICC enters a new phase of consolidation and strengthening after a period of rapid expansion in membership and activity.
"This is an exciting phase for the development of cricket beyond the Test-playing Members and I look forward to working alongside all of the Regional Development Managers to help our growing sport become stronger," said Mr Anderson.
Following his withdrawal from the recruitment process Mr Smith will continue in his role as Cricket Scotland CEO.
"I am very aware that my change of mind following an earlier pubic announcement has caused embarrassment to the ICC. I offer sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused and thank the ICC for their understanding of my personal circumstances," said Mr Smith.
