Wavell Hinds, the former West Indies opener, is to retire from regional and international cricket. He told his team-mates of his decision after Jamaica's defeat in the Stanford 20/20 final earlier this week.
Hinds is expected to sign for the Indian Cricket League , although if he did that would call into doubt his contract to play for Derbyshire this summer even thought he has signed for them as a Kolpak.
In 45 Tests for the West Indies, Hinds, 31, scored 2608 runs at 33.01 with a best of 213. He also appeared in 114 ODIs.
Although he has captained Jamaica, he was banned by them last year after being found guilty of verbally abusing an umpire.
