Murray Goodwin, Sussex's stand-in captain while Michael Yardy is away on England duty, has received a penalty after a breach of the ECB's discipline code.
Goodwin incurred the reprimand after he was reported by Umpires George Sharp and Graham Lloyd for a Level One breach of the code for excessive appealing during Sussex's County Championship match against Leicestershire last week. Goodwin scored a century in his only innings of the match, which Sussex went on to win by 10 wickets.
The penalty will remain on his record for two years, and any further Level One breach during that period will result in an automatic imposition of three penalty points.
