Charlotte Edwards, England women's captain, is holding two Twenty20 matches in aid of the Macmillan Nurses Appeal on September 24 at Ramsey Cricket Club in Cambridgeshire.
Edwards, the opening batsman, who recently led her country to a 4-0 series win against India, has secured some current and former England men's players to play against current and former England women's players in the matches.
Already confirmed are Monty Panesar, Nick Knight, Anthony McGrath, Will Jefferson, Ben Phillips and Darren Maddy for the men, while the successful women's squad from this summer are all also making an appearance.
"I wanted to do something to raise money for the Macmillan Nurses, who helped my dad through his illness until he passed away in March.," said Edwards. "The best way for me to do this was to organise a celebrity cricket match; something which is obviously close to my heart and also to my dad's. We'll hopefully raise a lot of money for a worthwhile cause and I'm really grateful to all the guys for playing."
The first game starts at 10.30am, followed by a two-hour lunch break to include an auction with some cricketing memorabilia. The second game will start at 3pm. Tickets are available on the day and are priced at £5 for adults, £2.50 for Under-16s and concessions.
