Chennai to host practice matches for India

The Indian squad for the tri-series in Malaysia will undergo a conditioning camp in Bangalore starting on August 30, followed by two practice matches in Chennai before departing for Malaysia.
Niranjan Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, confirmed that the 15-member squad from the abandoned trip to Sri Lanka will be trained in batches, each under the supervision of the support staff of Greg Chappell (coach), Greg King (trainer) and Ian Frazer (bio-mechanist). John Gloster, the team physio, will join the team at a later date. The first batch will train from August 30 to September 1, the second from September 2-4, and the third from September 5-7. It was also reported that VRV Singh, who wasn't part of the squad to Sri Lanka, would join the third batch.
"The squad will be trained in three batches of five players each", Shah told Cricinfo. "All fifteen players will then assemble in Chennai on September 7 and play two matches, on the 8th and 9th, against local sides consisting of talented players from the TNCA (Tamil Nadu Cricket Association) leagues."
The team will depart for Kuala Lumpur on September 10 for the tri-series, also featuring West Indies and Australia.
