Mohammad Azharuddin will appeal to a higher court after his suit to overturn a life ban from the game over match-fixing allegations was dismissed by a Hyderabad court.
"We will move the Andhra Pradesh High Court next month to get the ban lifted," K Jagadeesh, Azharuddin's lawyers, told reporters. "It's not over. In fact, this is just the beginning."
Azharuddin had charged that the match-fixing investigations were "malicious, illegal and arbitrary, and biased in favour of the BCCI." A lawyer for the BCCI, A Venkatesh, had confirmed that Azharuddin and his counsel could take the case to a higher court, which has duly been done now.
