Yousuf Youhana's Mercedes Benz was attacked and severely damaged by an unidentified mob in a posh locality of Lahore on Thursday evening. Youhana, who recently returned midway through the tour of the West Indies, was unhurt in the incident but the windows of his car were shattered while the body of the vehicle was also damaged.
"The reason for the attack has not been disclosed because the complainant agreed for a compromise," a police source was quoted as saying by the Press Trust of India. "The identified youngsters were arrested but later released because no official complaint was lodged".
Youhana too was not willing to divulge too many details and said, "There was some misunderstanding. But all is well." The car, which is estimated to be worth around Rs 5 million rupees [US$ 84,000 approx], was almost crippled in the incident. Around three months earlier, Mohammad Sami was robbed of about Rs1.5 million [approx US$25,300] after his home in Karachi was burgled.
Youhana had decided to return after the one-day series against West Indies to look after his ailing father, who had been diagnosed with kidney stones.
