The Essex batsman, Mark Pettini, has been named as captain of British Universities for their three-day fixture against the touring Bangladeshis at Fenner's next week.
Pettini's Essex colleague, Tony Palladino, has also been named in a 14-man squad, alongside the Northants spinner, Monty Panesar. They will provide Bangladesh, who arrive in the country tomorrow, with their first taste of English opposition on their maiden tour.
Bangladesh play two more three-day warm-up matches, against Sussex on May 15-17 and Northamptonshire on May 20-22, ahead of the first Test at Lord's on May 26.
