Sri Lanka: Maduwantha jumps into second spot
The Daily News
Muditha Maduwantha of D. S. Senanayake College jumped into second
position from the third position he was occupying after count No. 8 of
the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Contest. This contest
and the Most Popular Outstation Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year
Contest are organised by The Observer and sponsored by Bata Shoe
Company of Ceylon Limited.
The leader in the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year Contest
is Royal College captain Thusan Amerasuriya with 2,448 votes after
count No. 8. In second place is Muditha Maduwantha with 1,853 votes,
while Eashan Abeysinghe who was in second spot last week, drops one
place and is in third position with 1,478 votes.
There are no changes in the Outstation Most Popular Schoolboy
Cricketer of the Year Contest. Kasun Bulathsinghala of Maris Stella
who led last week, keeps his place with 2,048 votes and at this late
stage of the contest, looks a clear winner, as Thushara Madanayake of
Kingswood is presently second with 368 votes. In third place is Ishan
Mutaliph also of Maria Stella with 266 votes.
