Surrey have signed West Indies fast bowler Pedro Collins on a two-year Kolpak deal.
Collins, 31, has played 32 Tests and 30 ODIs, but as a Kolpak signing he will not be able to play for them again without immediately becoming an overseas player in which case his contract would be likely to be voided. In reality, this probably signals the end of his international career.
"We have been looking for a quality left-arm seamer and Pedro fits the bill perfectly," Alan Butcher, Surrey's manager, told the club's website. "He is a proven performer at Test and first-class level and will add variety to our attack. The captain [Mark Butcher] thinks he was the West Indies' best bowler on England's last tour of the Caribbean."
Collins is currently in the Caribbean preparing for the start of the domestic season.
