Sachin Tendulkar is making satisfactory progress with his rehabilitation following the shoulder surgery he had in March. He is due to start light batting drills this week and there is a chance he will be fit for the Test leg of India's tour to West Indies.
The Tests start on June 2 and, although he had already been ruled out of the one-day series, Tendulkar's recovery is on target.
In a press release Niranjan Shah, the BCCI secretary, said: "All aspects of the recovery have to this point gone as planned and he has adapted well to the implementation of the strength components of his programme.
"Sachin has been advised further strengthening exercises as well as to implement more functional shoulder activities. The original time frames discussed by the surgeon at the time of the operation appears to be still relevant."
