Surrey 336 for 5 dec and 332 for 6 dec (Newman 48, Butcher 90, Benning, 51, Hodd 55*, Salisbury 44*) drew with Bangladesh A 336 and 113 for 1 (Nafees 63)
Scorecard
Mark Butcher declared late on the final day at The Oval, after striking 90 himself, to ensure that Surrey's match against Bangladesh A finished all-square. James Benning added a fifty to his first-innings hundred and Andrew Hodd made it two unbeaten half-centuries in the match for him. Hodd shared another big unbeaten partnership with Ian Salisbury, putting on 89 without loss as Surrey declared on 332 for 6.
Bangladesh A were left to face an impossible chase of 333, and they had made it to 113 for 1 from 24 overs when stumps were drawn. Shahriar Nafees posted his second fifty of the match before falling for 63, the only wicket lost by the visitors in their second innings.
A draw was always the likely result in a three-day match on a flat batting track, so both teams settled for batting - and indeed bowling - practice. Bangladesh A will now face Kent at Canterbury for the final match of their tour, while Surrey are back to The Oval next week, and they host Gloucestershire in the Championship.
