ICC lifts Razzak's suspension

Abdur Razzak, the Bangladesh left-arm spinner who had been suspended for a suspect action last November, has been cleared to bowl in international cricket by the ICC. Razzak appeared for a reassessment of his action at the Australian Institute of Sports (AIS) in Canberra on February 23.

The ICC told the Bangladesh Cricket Board that Razzak bent his arm within the permissible level of 15 degrees while bowling his stock ball and quicker one with his modified action.

Razzak was reported after the home Tests against New Zealand last October by on-field umpires Daryl Harper and Asoka de Silva. An independent analysis conducted by the ICC confirmed his action was suspect and that he bent his arm between 22 to 28 degrees. He had been reported for the same offence during an Asia Cup match against Pakistan in Colombo in 2004 in what was his second one-day international.

Razzak has played five Tests for Bangladesh, taking seven wickets at 80.14. He's performed significantly better in ODIs, capturing 111 wickets in 81 games at 27.90.
