Finding a way into the strong Western Australia top order has been difficult in recent years but Liam Davis grabbed his chance last season. Picked for his first three Pura Cup games, Davis put his stamp on the first-class scene with a composed 116 against the eventual champions New South Wales. An aggressive right-hand opener, Davis was duly upgraded from a rookie deal to a full contract and was also offered a place at the Centre of Excellence in 2008.
